Can I submit a link to be posted on your site?

If have a link to a site that you own or would like to recommend please furnish the following information:

  • Your name or nickname.
  • URL of the website (web address such as: www.justmyramblings.com)
  • A brief description of the website.
  • If you own the website in question or if you are just forwarding it as a suggestion.

Can I put a link to www.justmyramblings.com on my website?

We prefer notification before you do, but realistically we can’t keep anyone from placing a link on their web page. You can link to a specific article as the article pages are static and the link should not change. The only article webpage that will change names is the newest article.

Article pages are named ArticleXXXX (where X is a numeric digit) if they are followed by a lower case letter it has been revised. The newest article always has the name “articlenew”. When a newer article is uploaded, it takes the “new” page and the article moving off is assigned the next sequential number.

So ‘article0061.html’ will always be named ‘article0061.html’ and the link to it should remain the same as long as the website is up or the article is posted.

Can I contact the Author?

Sure, I don’t mind hearing from readers and hearing what you have to say. As with any communication, all I ask is that you be civil, state your position in a clear manner and recognize my right to voice my opinions on my own website. If you do not agree with my opinions that’s fine but I would like to ask you to please take a minute to read the “Don’t Agree?” page.

Can I submit a request or suggest a new topic or article?

We’re open to suggestions, sure send us your topic and if you have a description or any specific information that you have about it please feel free to include what you have. Click here

Can I write an article to be posted on your site?

This website is primarily for my thoughts and opinions but if you have something that you have written and would like to see it posted, send it to me. If I agree I reserve the right to edit it or use parts in an article authored by me. If you’d like credit, denote that on your submission and I will give you the appropriate credit. I more than likely will not post it or any part of it if I do not agree with it. As stated before, this is a place predominantly for me to voice my opinion. In this case, I would strongly encourage you to do the same as I and start a website of your own. Please take a minute to read the “Don’t Agree?” page.

Did you design and create and do you maintain this web site yourself?

Yes and no. I did not know anything about website creation or maintenance when I began. However, I did know a few people that are well versed in website mastering and asked them a few questions, after which, I bought a book on the topic and did a search on website mastering.

I picked a website template. The person what hosts this site and maintains the domain name for me designed a simple site to display articles and had the features I wanted around the template that I picked out. Four hours later, he had the basic site structure up and working. I watched him do it and he taught me how to add text to it and make some minor changes to maintain the article pages.

He does not particularly agree with all of my opinions but recognizes my right to voice them. For this I am eternally grateful to him and a few others.

Admittedly, I am not an expert but after watching him work I strongly recommend Dreamweaver for web mastering/authoring if you can afford it.

Do you plan to offer a newsletter?

I won’t completely rule it out but I have no plans at this time to offer a newsletter or any type of subscription service.
